Ang Thong Marine Park Fees: What You Pay

By KohTrip · 15 October 2026 · Updated 19 October 2026

How much is the Ang Thong Marine Park entrance fee?

The national park fee is 300 THB per adult and 150 THB per child. These are the figures we work with for Angthong National Marine Park, and they are the only park fee numbers we quote here.

We do not have an official age cut-off between a child and an adult in our notes, so we will not guess one. If you are unsure which rate applies to your family, ask us before you travel and we will check it for you.

Do we pay the park fee separately on the Angthong Big Boat trip?

No. On our Angthong Big Boat trip the national park entrance fee is already covered, so there is nothing to pay at the park itself. You do not need to carry cash for it.

The fee still exists, of course. It is simply handled for you as part of the day, so you can step off the boat and head for the lagoon without queuing at a counter.

When is Ang Thong Marine Park closed?

The park is closed from 1 November to 15 December every year. No entrance fee is charged for those weeks because there are no visits, and we do not run the trip to the park during that time.

Outside that window the park is open, roughly from late December through October. Sea conditions still vary from day to day, so we cannot promise calm water on any particular date.

What do we actually see inside the park?

Mu Ko Angthong is a protected group of 42 limestone islands covering 102 square kilometres in the Gulf of Thailand. It lies about 30 km west of Koh Samui.

On our big boat day we stop at Koh Mae Koh for the Emerald Lagoon, and at Koh Wua Talap for a viewpoint hike and some beach time. We also make a snorkeling stop, where we provide mask and snorkel. Visibility and marine life vary with season and tides, and the captain chooses the best spot on the day.

Is there anything else we might need cash for?

The park fee is not the thing to budget for on this trip. A few small extras are paid separately, and you may want some cash for them.

  • Sea kayaking, an optional add-on used at the lagoon stop
  • Soft drinks on board, which are sometimes at extra cost
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Tips for the guide and crew
  • A towel, which you bring yourself

What does the day look like from pickup to return?

Hotel pickup is usually between 07:15 and 08:00, depending on where you stay. We collect from Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut and Maenam, and a supplement may apply for remote locations. An air-conditioned minivan takes you to a pier on the west coast, and we confirm your final pickup time by email or messaging.

A light breakfast is served on board, and a Thai buffet lunch with drinking water is served between stops. You are dropped back at your accommodation between 17:00 and 18:00.

The viewpoint hike on Koh Wua Talap is moderate, with steep sections and steps, so good footwear helps. The big boat is spacious with plenty of shade, and it has a social feel with other travellers on board.

What does the Angthong Big Boat cost, and what is included?

  • Adult: ฿1,530 per person
  • Child: ฿970 per person

Hotel pickup included · National park fee included · No hidden fees · Instant confirmation

The national park fee (300 THB per adult, 150 THB per child) is included in the price. The Ang Thong national park is closed from 1 November to 15 December every year.

Can you cancel or change your booking?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour date, fully refundable. If our captain decides the sea or weather makes the tour unsafe, you can choose a new date or a full refund. There is no fixed booking period: book as early as you can to secure your spot, because Koh Samui tours fill up easily, even in low season.
